The LIBRE Institute has launched a new program in the Orlando area aimed at helping those seeking refuge in Florida after historic hurricane damage in Puerto Rico last year. “Welcome to Florida” offers resources to Hispanics to assist with job training, housing and education enrollment.

Puerto Ricans have suffered life-changing devastation after Hurricanes Maria and Irma. Thousands are now making new lives in Florida. The LIBRE Institute empowers them with the tools they need to succeed and thrive in a new home.

Specifically, “Welcome to Florida” will include occupational licensing workshops, resume building, interview training and connecting with employers so families are able to find employment in Orlando. The program also offers English lessons, assistance with housing applications and education enrollment.

Resources through the LIBRE Institute and “Welcome to Florida” will make moving to and thriving in Florida much easier for the Hispanic community. Visit the LIBRE Institute for more resources and information on events near you!
