Arlington, VA – The LIBRE Institute this week released the results of its annual national Hispanic voter survey revealing growing economic doubt, deep concerns about affordability, and declining confidence in the American Dream among Hispanic communities across the country.
Conducted by Public Opinion Strategies, the survey of 1,200 Hispanic voters nationwide highlights the mounting pressures Hispanic families are facing as they navigate rising costs, economic uncertainty, and concerns about opportunity for future generations.
Among the survey’s key findings:
- Economic concerns dominate Hispanic voters’ priorities, with inflation, jobs, housing affordability, and the overall economy ranking as the top issues facing the country.
- More than 80% of respondents rate the economy as fair or poor, while nearly 60% believe economic conditions will worsen over the next year.
- Housing costs remain the leading affordability concern, with 70% saying it is unaffordable, followed closely by food and household expenses.
- Only 53% of Hispanic voters believe the American Dream is achievable for people like themselves, reflecting growing anxiety about future opportunities.
- Support for school choice remains strong, with at least 73% of Hispanic voters supporting educational freedom and expanded opportunities for students and families.
- Health care affordability continues to worsen, with 83% saying their health care costs increased over the past year.
- Immigration opinions continue shifting toward legal pathways (91% agree) and targeted enforcement, with strong support (83%) for focusing deportation efforts on individuals who have committed serious crimes.
Jeffrey Baldwin, The LIBRE Institute, Director, issued the following statement:
“This year’s findings send a clear message. Hispanic families are concerned with the cost of living, economic opportunity, affordability, quality education, access to health care, and are increasingly worried about whether the American Dream remains within reach, continue to shape the priorities of Hispanic voters nationwide.”
The survey conducted April 17-23, 2026 found that Hispanic voters continue to value freedom, opportunity, and economic mobility, while expressing growing concern that future generations may face greater barriers to success than previous generations.
