The LIBRE Institute Raises Awareness of School Choice Across the Country

(Washington, D.C.) – The LIBRE Institute participated in 9 events across the country during National School Choice Week, a week-long celebration which officially concluded this past Saturday. The numerous events offered Hispanic families a chance to learn more about school choice policies in their states. The LIBRE Institute joined local and national organizations in Miami, Denver, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Austin, Phoenix, and other cities, in an effort to raise awareness of the benefits of increased school choice. Staff and volunteers of The LIBRE Institute were excited to engage Hispanic parents by providing the information necessary to put more control in the hands of those who know their children’s unique educational needs the best.

Rachel Campos-Duffy, National Spokesperson of The LIBRE Institute, released the following statement:

“Ensuring families the opportunity to select the best educational environment for their children is the main goal of school choice policies. Last week thousands of parents around the U.S. had the opportunity to learn how school choice helps Hispanic families to succeed, while also dispelling confusing and misleading information spread by special interest groups.

I am really proud of the work The LIBRE Institute is doing – and especially the efforts last week — on an issue that’s close to my heart. Every child – no matter their ethnicity, place of residence, or family income – deserves access to a quality education. And that’s why school choice is important, because it provides children with the best chance to succeed.”
