Jorge Lima is the Executive Director of The LIBRE Institute. Having worked in both the private and public sector, Jorge brings extensive experience in policy development and a keen understanding of the impact policies have on our economy, businesses and communities.
Prior to joining LIBRE, Lima served as Strategic Policy Advisor to Governor Luis Fortuño of Puerto Rico. In that capacity, he focused on matters of economic development and played a key role in major successes for the territory, including initiatives to spur private sector investment and the approval of a public-private partnership for the San Juan International Airport – the first of its kind in the U.S.
Lima also practiced Land Use law as an associate at the law firm of Holland & Knight and began his areer as an attorney for the City of Miami. He is a member of the Florida Bar and holds a Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
