El arquetipo de un espacio de oficina moderno en un rascacielos, con cientos de empleados con camisa y corbata tecleando en cub\u00edculos, tiende a dominar la percepci\u00f3n de las compa\u00f1\u00edas estadounidenses. En realidad, el panorama empresarial de Estados Unidos est\u00e1 dominado por empresas individuales sin empleados remunerados, que aportan miles de millones de d\u00f3lares a la econom\u00eda. Los hispanos lideran este tipo de emprendimiento y, en un nuevo gr\u00e1fico de The LIBRE Institute, se contrastan las tasas de empresas individuales de la poblaci\u00f3n hispana con las de la poblaci\u00f3n no hispana para destacar este atributo \u00fanico de la comunidad emprendedora hispana.   <\/p>\n<p>Para algunos cr\u00edticos del libre mercado, es f\u00e1cil menospreciar las preocupaciones de los empresarios y empresarias afirmando que las corporaciones no son personas. Es f\u00e1cil tacharlas de impersonales; sin preocupaciones, voces ni rostros humanos. Por el contrario, la idea de un emprendedor solitario que dirige su propia peque\u00f1a empresa desde su casa es mucho m\u00e1s humana. Pero, de una manera muy literal, <em>estas corporaciones son personas<\/em>: la mayor\u00eda de los negocios son de una sola persona y, para los hispanos, esto es especialmente cierto. Utilizando datos del Censo de la <a href=\"http:\/\/factfinder.census.gov\/faces\/tableservices\/jsf\/pages\/productview.xhtml?pid=SBO_2007_00CSA01&amp;prodType=table\">Encuesta de Due\u00f1os de Empresas<\/a>, se comparan las tasas de autoempleo de los hispanos en negocios sin empleados remunerados con las tasas entre los no hispanos, revelando resultados sorprendentes. UU. lideran la naci\u00f3n en este tipo de empresa individual, lo cual es coherente con otros hallazgos sobre el esp\u00edritu emprendedor hispano, como el hecho de que los hispanos crean empresas a un ritmo mucho mayor que la media nacional. La formaci\u00f3n de nuevas empresas es un componente cr\u00edtico del crecimiento econ\u00f3mico, y la mayor\u00eda de los negocios no comienzan con todo un equipo de personal ya establecido. Lo m\u00e1s frecuente es que un emprendedor tenga una idea para crear valor para los dem\u00e1s y la ponga en marcha por s\u00ed mismo, asumiendo un gran riesgo personal en el proceso. Por ejemplo, una panader\u00eda que opere en los 50 estados podr\u00eda tener su origen en la cocina de la casa de un hombre. Si sus familiares le dijeran cada Navidad que disfrutan de los pasteles que env\u00eda a su familia por las fiestas, podr\u00eda tener la confianza suficiente en esa informaci\u00f3n como para arriesgarse a invertir unos miles de d\u00f3lares en un horno industrial que podr\u00eda usar para producir cientos de pasteles. Si sus ventas son lo suficientemente altas, su operaci\u00f3n unipersonal podr\u00eda generar beneficios suficientes para invertir en m\u00e1s hornos, alquilar un local o incluso contratar empleados. Innumerables millones de empresas en los Estados Unidos tuvieron sus humildes comienzos de esta misma manera, con el emprendedor individual en la ra\u00edz de todo.      <\/p>\n<p>Aunque los hispanos lideran la naci\u00f3n en operaciones unipersonales, tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1n creando puestos de trabajo a un ritmo asombroso. De 2007 a 2012, el n\u00famero de empresas no hispanas con empleados remunerados se mantuvo casi igual, aumentando solo un 0,2% durante el periodo de cinco a\u00f1os. Para los hispanos, por otro lado, el crecimiento fue espectacular. El n\u00famero de empresas de propiedad hispana con empleados remunerados aument\u00f3 un 17,1% en el mismo periodo de tiempo, pasando de menos de 250.000 en 2007 a casi 300.000 en 2012. En 2015, las empresas de propiedad hispana en su conjunto aportan un estimado de <a href=\"http:\/\/www.geoscape.com\/HBR\/pdf\/Geoscape_HispanicBusinessOwners_FINAL.pdf\">661.000 millones de d\u00f3lares<\/a> a la econom\u00eda de EE. UU., un aumento del 88% desde 2007.    <\/p>\n<p>Los emprendedores hispanos son una fuerza impulsora del crecimiento econ\u00f3mico estadounidense y seguir\u00e1n creciendo en el futuro. Mientras que el crecimiento de las empresas no hispanas casi se ha estancado, los hispanos lideran el camino en la creaci\u00f3n de nuevos negocios. Aunque la mayor\u00eda de las empresas en Estados Unidos son operaciones de un solo hombre, la mayor\u00eda de los negocios con empleados remunerados comienzan de esta manera. Como muestran los datos, las empresas de propiedad hispana est\u00e1n creando puestos de trabajo a un ritmo espectacular y aportar\u00e1n m\u00e1s de medio bill\u00f3n de d\u00f3lares a nuestra econom\u00eda este a\u00f1o. Los hispanos de EE.
