A pesar de los grandes esfuerzos de la Administraci\u00f3n Obama por aumentar la inscripci\u00f3n de hispanos, la comunidad hispana ha evitado en gran medida participar en el controvertido programa sanitario. <\/p>\n<p>Seg\u00fan los <a href=\"http:\/\/aspe.hhs.gov\/health\/reports\/2015\/MarketPlaceEnrollment\/Jan2015\/ib_2015jan_enrollment.pdf\">informes gubernamentales<\/a> m\u00e1s recientes, solo el 10% de quienes se han inscrito hasta ahora en la ACA han sido hispanos, apenas tres puntos porcentuales m\u00e1s que el a\u00f1o pasado. En cambio, los hispanos representan al menos el 17% de la poblaci\u00f3n de EE. UU. y hasta una cuarta parte de las personas sin seguro. A la vista de estas cifras tan bajas, el rendimiento de la ley sanitaria del presidente ha sido, como de costumbre, poco impresionante.  <\/p>\n<p>Muchos han se\u00f1alado factores externos como el miedo a la deportaci\u00f3n, las barreras ling\u00fc\u00edsticas y la resistencia de muchos estados a ampliar Medicaid como posibles explicaciones de este mal rendimiento. Sin embargo, al invocar esta dispersa constelaci\u00f3n de razones para justificar la resistencia hispana a Obamacare, estamos ocultando el verdadero problema. La verdad est\u00e1 justo delante de nuestras narices.  <\/p>\n<p>La Ley de Cuidado de Salud Asequible es una mala pol\u00edtica, y las cifras no mienten.<\/p>\n<p>De media, los consumidores hispanos gastaron aproximadamente 41.000 $ al a\u00f1o en 2013, una cifra que ha fluctuado muy poco en los a\u00f1os posteriores a la recesi\u00f3n. En 2007, los consumidores hispanos gastaron el 1,79% de sus ingresos en seguro m\u00e9dico, lo que represent\u00f3 una media de 780 $ al a\u00f1o. Seis a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s, los consumidores hispanos tienen que gastar m\u00e1s de un 50% m\u00e1s en seguro m\u00e9dico, con un total de aproximadamente 1.188 $ de media.  <\/p>\n<p>El apoyo hispano a Obamacare <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pewresearch.org\/fact-tank\/2014\/03\/27\/support-for-obama-health-care-law-has-eroded-among-hispanics\/\">se ha desplomado<\/a> en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, bajando del 63% en 2013 a tan solo el 48% en 2014. Esta tendencia refleja un creciente escepticismo hacia la ley sanitaria, impulsado por la realidad de pagar el seguro m\u00e9dico bajo el nuevo sistema. En casi todos los estados, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manhattan-institute.org\/knowyourrates\/\">el coste del seguro m\u00e9dico ha aumentado<\/a> desde la aprobaci\u00f3n de la ACA, lo que deja a muchos ante la dif\u00edcil elecci\u00f3n de pagar m\u00e1s por su seguro o ser penalizados por no participar. El m\u00ednimo que una familia pagar\u00e1 anualmente bajo la ACA si no compra un seguro m\u00e9dico es de 2.085 $.   <\/p>\n<p>Los hechos est\u00e1n claros y las cifras est\u00e1n ah\u00ed. El seguro m\u00e9dico se ha encarecido para los hispanos en Estados Unidos, y la Ley de Cuidado de Salud Asequible ha fallado a la comunidad hispana.
